Many High School Seniors who are planning to continue in their study of music do so because they "love music," or have "never even thought of doing something else." This level of passion is admirable; and something that I myself have often felt over my past four years at Coventry High School.
However; as I prepared to move into the collegiate study of music, I suddenly felt intimidated by the level of commitment needed to pursue the arts. In order to pursue a degree in Music Education, I not only must hone teaching skills and master pedagogical procedure, but also I must continue to grow my own musicianship. One goal of this portfolio is to demonstrate and bring awareness to the wide expanse of skills and knowledge needed to pursue Music Education.
This portfolio served as an organizing point to help me balance and focus my attention on both the realm of music performance and the realm of education. I simultaneously realized that I was drawing on all the objectives of the Coventry High School Mission Statemt. My portfolio represents not only objectives met over my time at Coventry High School but a culmination of my growth and development and my preparation to move further on.

Academic Expectations
